Badwater entry
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” -Winston Churchill
In life we set goals, we strive to be the best we can, to always make a difference and although it doesn't always turn out the way we want, we have the ability to learn from it.
I have spent the last 18 years of my life helping others see what is possible if you never give up, if you have the courage to dig a little deeper and push past the inner doubt. Last July I had to drop out of the Badwater 135 Ultra marathon, it was one of the most difficult decisions I have had to make.
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race” -Calvin Coolidge
After waiting 6 anxious months to apply, The 2011 Badwater Ultramarathon race field has been selected and I am so happy to hear I will have a spot on the starting line this year. Thank you to the Adventure CORPS board members. I will take all that I have learned as a newcomer to the ultra racing scene and do what it takes to get to the finish line.
Keep checking back for updates on our training, nutrition and technology.
